I don’t really know why I did that, but I created a mini-blog on Tumblr last night. As if I would benefit from yet another RSS feed in my life. Ok, so here’s some rules:

I’ll use Fortrel.Net to post longer messages, updates, book reviews and stuff a little less « personnal ». You can see it as an online magasine, except that I’m the editor, writer, graphic designer, proof reader and every single columnist, all at the same time. (So stop complaining about my split-personality problem will you!)

I’ll keep posting on Twitter. Considering the 140 characters limit, those messages are going to be smaller, to the point. I’ll keep using it for status updates. These are more personnal messages and, honestly, if you’re not a friend or a relative, it’s probably going to bore you to death. Do you really want to know what I hate for lunch yesterday?

So where does Tumblr fit in this picture? Well, somewhere in the middle. I’ll post messages that are a little longer that what I write on my blog. The kind of posts I would not otherwise publish on my blog because there is not enough material to write a whole article about it. I’m also planning on filtering my del.icio.us bookmarks and sharing a few of them with you. This seems to be working fine so far.

Note that, if you’ve subscribed to my twitter feed, you will receive notifications when I post articles on my blog (as you used to) but, starting from now, you will also get notification for my tumblr entries.

So have fun and, if you’re using any of those tools (or similar ones) feel free to share the URLs with me. (Hopefully my spam filter will let you cut & paste those URLs in the comments section. If not, send me an email and I’ll bypass the spam filter and add it myself.)
