What Male and Female Ethernet Connectors do in Suspended Ceiling

Don’t ask me how we started talking about this… It’s just as absurd as the time I was talking to you about Rhino Traps. They must put some drugs in the cafeteria food on Fridays.
Why are you still reading. This is stupid stuff, I warn you!
The theory is that most Ethernet traffic in middle-sized companies run through suspended ceiling. When one of my co-worker asked if he could get a connection over there (right there, where my finger is pointing) I told him there was most probably an Ethernet cable in the ceiling we could route back down. « Why? » he asked. « Because that’s where Eternet cables hide! You set them free and they quickly run up the walls and hide in suspended ceilings. » Then another of my co-worker asked « But are they male or female? » and to that I replied « All Ethernet cable are male, just like every Ethernet jack is female. » To what he replied « Gosh! I hope they don’t reproduce. » So… if you happen to walk down the hall and hear Click! Click! Click! [the sound of an Ethenet cable you plug in] Click! Yes! Click! Click! Faster! Click! coming from the ceiling, well… you know what your Ethernet connectors are doing.
