Here is a great article on the community and social aspects of Community Wireless Networks (CWN) like the one we are starting in Ottawa-Gatineau. Most of the examples and interviews in the article are related to Île sans fil, who are helping us getting our group (OG-WiFi) started.

What the author is saying is really interesting and can be observed as well in our little group. It brought together people that would probably never have met otherwise. The technical and social knowledge as well as the goal each one pursue are different but yet, we are all moving in the same direction. This is what fascinates me.
